Waseem Kazzah is your candidate for Ward 7 City Council, focused on affordability, accountability, and practical solutions that improve everyday life for residents — a finance professional, a Chartered Professional Accountant, and a local community leader.
As a London resident, Waseem lives the challenges facing Ward 7 families — rising property taxes, increasing traffic congestion, housing unaffordability, and population growth that isn’t always matched with the infrastructure and services residents rely on. He believes growth must be planned responsibly, with real investments in roads, transit, housing, and community services.
“Growth must be planned responsibly — with real investment in the roads, transit, housing, and services residents rely on every day.”
Professionally, Waseem brings wide-ranging experience that’s increasingly rare to find at City Hall. With a background in finance, accounting, operations, and municipal environments — including audit — he specializes in process improvement, accountability, and operational efficiency, working with teams and decision-makers to reduce inefficiencies and ensure organizations deliver real value.
He previously worked for the City of London, where he supported the development and monitoring of capital and operating budgets, analyzed infrastructure and capital projects, and partnered with city departments to improve financial planning. That experience gave him firsthand insight into how municipal operations function — and reinforced the importance of responsible budgeting and long-term planning for a growing city.
Waseem graduated from Western University with a degree in Management and Organizational Studies (BMOS) and Political Science. As an immigrant to Canada, he built his life and career in London and is passionate about creating opportunities for others and strengthening the community through service and engagement.
His commitment to community leadership began at Huron University College, where he served as President of the World University Service of Canada (WUSC) chapter — helping support refugee students and expand scholarship opportunities. He later became involved in advocacy and initiatives supporting newcomers and youth in London, including co-founding the Youth Access Leadership Association (YALA).
